Aarhus Vand Visit to AVK Australia

Leading Water Utility Company from Denmark visit to AVK in Australia 15-06-2018

Aarhus Vand is a leading water utility company in Denmark. They produce drinking water, treat wastewater, maintain sewer systems and are actively involved in groundwater (bore water) protection. Aarhus Vand distributes more than 15 million cubic metres of drinking water and treats more than 30 million cubic metres of wastewater yearly. Their mission is to offer and develop resource-efficient services throughout the entire water cycle, creating a climate-adapted, sound environment, growth and export, all of which will be of benefit to customers and stakeholders. Aarhus Vand is internationally known for their innovative technologies and services. They are currently developing one of the world’s most resource-effective treatment plant – Marselisborg WWTP.

On Friday the 15th June, Chief Operations Officer for Aarhus Vand, Mr. Claus Homann, the Consul General & Trade Commissioner for Denmark in Australia, Mr. Carsten Rosendahl and Junior Commercial Advisor, Ms. Marie Lund visited AVK Australia headquarters in Wingfield, South Australia. The purpose of the visit was to establish a line of contact and exchange professional views of the water industry with key stakeholders within the Australian market, the implications of the Danish water model, the key water competencies Aarhus Vand could offer in Denmark and the existing solutions AVK in Australia has to offer. The impacts on supply efficiencies for drinking water, recycled water (Class A, grey water) and stormwater (recycled storm water) were topics of interest including the regulatory areas for water utilities and resource recovery processes in particular the energy recovery related to wastewater and water treatment processes.

Our Danish partners were privileged with the opportunity to meet with the Management Team at SA Water, one of AVK’s biggest and loyal clients. SA Water managers all water services in South Australia and are owned by the South Australian Government. The visit concluded with a complimentary tour of the Glenelg Treatment Plant where AVK supplied a complete tailored package solution to the major upgrade that took place in 2016.

On behalf of AVK in Australia, we would like to thank Mr. Craig Wright, National Sales Manager - Civil for AVK Australia Holdings, for his hard-work and commitment in organising and guiding the visit to Australia. We would also like to thank Mr. Claus Homann, Mr. Carsten Rosendahl and Ms. Marie Lund for taking the time to visit our facilities and meeting with our business partners and we look forward to continuing our long-term partnership.
